Dr. Daniel S.W. Han was born in Seoul, South Korea and grew up in Vancouver, Canada. He studied at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine and received a degree of a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). He then went on to receive specialty training at the University of Pennsylvania and achieved dual certificates in both Periodontics and Periodontal Prosthesis, graduating as the top resident of the year. Dr. Han was honored to be the graduation speaker for his class.
At the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Han conducted extensive research on the subjects of alveolar ridge expansion, splitting technique and immediate implant placements, comparing two different types of implants and their efficacy. He presented his research findings at the International Association of Dental Research (IADR) in San Diego.
Dr. Han continues to be active in clinical research at the Department of Periodontics regarding surgical procedures related to implants at UPenn. Additionally, he now serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Periodontics and Periodontal Prosthesis at the University, teaching Periodontal and Implant Surgeries and Prosthodontics to residents.
When Dr. Han is not working or teaching, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
Dr. Han currently sees patients at the Liberty branch of Dentex, providing specialized Consultations and Dental Care for Oral Rehabilitation and Periodontal/Implant Therapy.
